Pixljaya Hosts MYVIRTUO Special Screening for 11 Government-Backed Virtual Production Projects

Pixljaya hosted the MYVIRTUO Special Screening at its LED volume studio inside Multimedia University (MMU), where 11 completed virtual production projects were screened live for policy leaders and industry partners.

MYVIRTUO is run under the Ministry of Digital through the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), with financial backing via Dana Kandungan Kreatif under the Ministry of Communications. The initiative provides up to RM300,000 in funding per project, alongside structured mentorship and industry collaboration, to advance real-time filmmaking in Malaysia.

The screening was attended by senior government and industry figures, including YBhg. Datuk Bahria Mohd Tamil, Deputy Secretary General (Strategic Communications and Creative Industry), Ministry of Communications; YBrs. Ma. Sivanesan a/l Marimuthu @ Muthiah, Deputy Secretary General (Digital Development); and Anuar Fariz Fadzil, Chief Executive Officer of MDEC. Ecosystem partners present included 3PARTICLE, Oceanus Media Global (OMG Studios), and the MYVIRTUO panels and mentors.

The 11 grant recipients spanned live-action, animation, and music video formats: Monolith Films, Graph Studio, Metakaji Studio, Motiofixo, Twentyoneseventeen, Prodigee Asia Talent, MAI Works, Dotpoint, Filmplant, Ianwitheyes, and N3 System.

Hosting the screening on the LED stage gave attendees a direct view of the pipeline behind the projects, including in-camera visual effects that remove green screen spill, Unreal Engine set changes executed in seconds, and the cost and time efficiencies that come from moving post-production decisions forward into pre-production and on-set work.

The event positioned virtual production in Malaysia as an established, government-supported standard rather than an emerging trend.
