Pixljaya Studio Granted Malaysia Digital (MD) Status

• Award recognises Pixljaya Studio's role in building Malaysia's virtual production and motion capture capability

• MD Status strengthens Pixljaya Studio's capacity to develop original digital content and attract international productions to Malaysia 

Pixljaya Studio (Digital Media & Entertainment Sdn. Bhd.), a Cyberjaya-based virtual production studio, has been awarded Malaysia Digital (MD) Status by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC). The recognition affirms Pixljaya Studio's contribution to technology-driven digital content creation in Malaysia, and will enable the studio to expand its support for local creators, international productions and Malaysia's ambition to become a preferred hub for world-class digital businesses and talent.

Pixljaya Studio operates one of Malaysia's leading virtual production facilities at Multimedia University, Cyberjaya, comprising a 19 × 5.5 m LED Volume stage powered by Unreal Engine, and a dedicated Vicon motion capture studio with 20 cameras and facial performance capture. Together, these allow film, television, commercial and animation projects to be produced with real-time environments and digital characters, reducing location travel, shortening production schedules and lowering the environmental footprint of filmmaking.

The studio works closely with MDEC on MYVIRTUO (Malaysia Virtual Production Originals), and was honoured to host the MYVIRTUO Special Screening at its Cyberjaya studio, presenting 11 original Malaysian projects to representatives of the Ministry of Digital, the Ministry of Communications and MDEC. Pixljaya Studio has also hosted brand campaigns including Touch 'n Go's 30th anniversary commercial.
